Well, the date is set for my C-section...it will be Nov. 19...so as of right now..we have 13 days to go....and I can't wait.....Riley is getting so excited...I can't wait to see his face the first time he sees his little brother......Chris has been back to work for 5 weeks and things are going good for him....We have to go to Brandon, Ms(about 3.5 hours away) on Tues...where they will fit him for a prothestic hand....it will be a glove that makes it look like he has all of his fingers....doesn't help him in any way...just for appearances.......he will be fitted on Tues.. and then I think it will take 2-3 months for the hand to be made and then we'll have to go back and stay over there for a few days so they can make sure the fit is good and paint the glove to match Chris' skin........I am trying to get all my Christmas bought before Jackson arrives cause who knows if I will feel like shopping after he gets here........I am almost through ...just have several small gifts left to buy...most of Riley's and Jackson's are bought...thank goodness......Hope all is well with everyone...God bless...

October Update....

Well, Jackson will be here in about 5 1/2 weeks...can't wait...we have everything ready for him...we just need him....Chris is back at work...this is his fourth week back and is doing great.. he is still on restricted duty...He has to go to the doctor on Friday the 16th and I'm thinking that the doctor will probably release him to full duty...not too sure how I feel about that.....he is an awesome man...some men would just say I can't do this or I can't do that...but you won't hear Chris saying that.....he does everything he did before he got hurt and more......His grandmother passed away on Oct. 7.....she was his MOM...she is the one who raised him..he talked to her on the phone every night...so adjusting to that has been hard for him....She was 80 years old and a special lady...I go to the doctor on Monday to check on baby Jackson.....can't wait...love, love, love to hear that sweet little heart beat...there is no sound like that in the world.....Love to all..God bless...

Well, today I am 8 months pregnant. Jackson Daniel Rodrick will be here sometime between Nov. 18th and Nov. 28th. Chris went back to work last week. He is still on restriced duty but has to go back to the doctor on Oct. 16th and I think they will probably release him to full duty. He's ready. He has done awesome with his recovery. He hasn't really found anything that he could do before the accident that he can't do now. Thank God for that. We are so ready for Jackson to arrive. Only have about 7 weeks to go, so not long at all. Started Christmas shopping cause not so sure I'm gonna be up to fighting the Christmas Crowds this year. Won't have long enough to recover between having Jackson(C-section) and Christmas. I'm almost done with Riley's Christmas......gotta get Jackson a few more things and then some family gifts. I have wonderful friends and family. Shyanne, Natosha, Tina, Tracey, and Kimberly had me a surprise baby shower at David's Catfish House. It was awesome. Then I had a shower at church and tomorrow night Niki and Angel(my cousin Jarrell's wife) are having me a couple's shower...gonna be so much fun.. So I have been blessed...Jackson is all set. August Update on the Rodrick Family

Hope everyone is doing awesome...Just wanted to let everyone know that we are.....I am now 25 weeks pregnant.....Jackson Daniel Rodrick(official name) is gonna be here before we know it and I can't wait....Chris is doing exceptionally well...He is doing things I had no ideal that he would ever be able to do.....He is going to therapy 5 days a week now for what they call work conditioning...it is where they get you ready to go back to work full time but where they can control the environment while his hand is getting stronger....so he won't be in any dangerous situations.....not sure if I'm gonna be ready to send him back to work when the doctors say he is ready to go back...but then again, pretty sure that I probably won't ever be ready to send him back...gonna be worried about him constantly...but guess he's gotta go back to work...(unless we win the lottery or someone has about a million dollars they wanna give me)...NO? Didn't think so....guess I'll just have to let go....just glad its not right now.....God bless!!!

It has now been 2 weeks since Chris' accident....see previous post for details.....and he is doing great....He has been going to therapy for 1 week so far...he has to go 3 times a week for 3 weeks for right now....We have to go back and see the doctor on July 22 to see what's next...more therapy, work...who Knows...???........Just wanted to let every know that he is doing great.....I went for my 5 month check up yesterday and they did another ultrasound to confirm the baby's sex...and it was a boy and still is...lol..Chris and I think we have a name picked out....maybe we won't change our minds......Jackson Daniel Rodrick....Chris' grandfather, who raised Chris along with his grandmother, names was Daniel...so we for sure won't the middle name to be Daniel...and so far we love the name Jackson.......hard to believe that I am already half way through this pregnancy...Jackson will be here before we know it......We are a blessed family.....God Bless.....

Life Happens

June 25, 2009 was a life changing day for us...not in a good way either. The phone rang at 11:30pm...Chris was at work and Riley and I were home...didn't make it to the phone in time so I called Chris back...he was calling me on his cell phone which was strange because he was supposed to be at work...He told me to calm down..that he had just gotton 3 of his fingers cut off at work...he just kept telling me to calm down...I told him to give me a minute to freak out before he tells me to calm down....He was so calm .....so I went rushed to the ER(Niki got me there in about 13 minutes from my house)....he was so calm.....me, not so much....We were sent to USA in Mobile where they cleaned up his fingers and sewed them up...the fingers that were cut off were not able to be found...they went through a suction hose and probably ended up in the boiler(fire).....so they wrapped his hand up, kept him overnight, and sent him home ...we go back Monday on July 6 to have the bandages taken off and see what's next...He is amazing...no complaining...and hardly any pain.....The only time that I get really emotional is when I think about what could've happened.....instead of being called to the ER...someone could've showed up on my doorstep giving me really awful news...so I am thanking God every chance I get that I still get to have Chris with me.....I told him between us we have 17 fingers...I think we can handle anything together.......I told him if He can't do it, then WE can.....life can change in an instant.....I'm just praying that he has little pain as he has had.......Chris has a fierce determination...so I'm not worried about him in that capacity.....I told him I give him 2 weeks after his hand heals before he is able to do anything he wants to do....The fingers that were cut off are on his right hand...he has his thumb and pinky left and about an 1/2 inch of the other three fingers....at least that's what we think...we won't get to see his hand until July 6....so please be praying for a speedy recovery for Chris......thanks and God bless....

It's A Boy!!!

Well, we found out yesterday that baby #2 is also boy #2.......so guess I'm gonna be really outnumbered in our house for years to come....Riley and Chris couldn't be happier.....we had the ultrasound tech. whisper to Riley what the baby was and then he got to tell us......He was grinning so big and said...I told ya'll it was gonna be a boy.......She froze the screen and then told Riley..I saw "something" and was pretty sure it was a boy...lol......Dr. said everything looks great..so I'm happy about that.....now the hunt for a name begins....I really want the middle name to be Daniel, after Chris' grandfather...Just hope I can find something I like to go with that.....Riley has lots of names that he likes but just none I think I would be comfortable giving nour child...he has the name: Sandre DaSante......and last night when were laying in bed he came up with the name of Kenny Keyhole Rodrick...poor child....lol....hopefully we can find a normal name.......God bless ........

Hi all, hope all is well with everyone....I got a new car today(well,. new to me) it's a 2006 Ford Fusion....Loven' it so far..lol...not that I've had it long...a few hours..lol...We're starting to get ready for VBS this year...so I'm excited about that....We're doing Studio Go...it's about a game show....so it should be pretty fun....Been picking out the crafts to do cause I'm the crafts teacher...I'm almost 3 months along in my pregnancy....Can't wait until I can find out what the baby is....Riley is so hilarious...he says if it's a boy we're gonna name him Sandre DaSante Rodrick...poor, poor, kid.....I told Riley he could call hime whatever but we were not naming him that....also if you ask him what kind of baby we're having, he says a Mexican...lmao....I told Chris that would be really funny......all for now....talk to ya'll soon...

Exciting News

Well, lets see.....Riley didnt' get into K-4...he's like the 4th boys alternate..so highly unlikely that 4 boys will not go that got in...but that's ok...more time with Mom...lol.....He played his first T-ball game last night...it was so much fun....he said we won, didn't we Mom...I said yeah....in reality the score was 18 to 18....lol.....they all bat and they all get on base no matter what....no outs.....when the whole team bats then thats the inning lol...they each get to bat 2 times....it so much fun... Riley doesn't need someone to tell him he did good...he loves to toot his own horn..lol......if someone tells him he did good he says..yep I did....so modest...lol.....We found out exciting news yesterday...WE'RE HAVING ANOTHER BABY...YAY...We are due at the end of Nov......I told Riley and he said really and then turned around and continued to watch Spongebob....guess the thought of a new brother or sister just couldn't compete with Spongebob...that's all for now...love to all..

The Dollar Tree Rocks....

Well, Riley has had a really full week this week and not a fun one at all. On Wed., he went to the dentist for a check up(no cavities)...yay.....and today(Thurs.) he had to go to the doctor for his 4 year old check up and had to get 4 shots...ouchie....It's amazing what the Dollar Tree can heal..lol...I let him go in after his doctor appointment and get 6 things...and suddenly his boo boos don't hurt anymore....lol...yay Dollar Tree....I am so totally not looking forward to the day when he realizes that all the good toys are at Wal-mart(and cost more than a dollar) but for now am glad he still thinks the Dollar Tree is amazing....March 27 is K-4 registration....(note to God: Please, Please let him get in)...T-ball season starts April 7th....so I'm excited about that....And the last week of March we are going on a 1 night mini-vacation to Ft. Walton Beach, FL. This will be Riley's first trip to the beach so I'm excited to see what he thinks about it. While we are there, we are gonna go to the Gulfarium and we are going to go on a 2 hr. Dolphin Cruise.. They are supposed to take you out and let you see Dolphins and it is an 80 foot glass bottom boat...On their web page it says that all the kids get a turn to drive the boat and that's what Riley is the most excited about....So we've got a lot going on in the next few weeks....Love to all....

Rambling Update

Let's see...what have we been up to lately? Well, we had a Valentine Banquet at church and everyone voted on a King and a Queen and Riley won King....yay, Riley. He was mad cause he wanted Bubba(my nephew, Christopher) to be king cause that's who he voted for soooooo that meant he should've won...the logics of a 4 year old...lol. I have signed Riley up for T-ball this year. I think I'm about as excited as He is. He'll play with 3 and 4 year olds. I think he's gonna have so much fun. We gave our dog, Cooper, to a friend of my Mom's. I am so not a dog person and I sooooo tried for over a year because my husband and Riley like dogs. Chris started working shift work again and didn't have the time that Cooper needed and as I said before I AM NOT A DOG PERSON. I figured Riley would throw a fit but he didn't ...lol...he was like ok. I felt bad cause I didn't feel bad about giving him away..did you get that? lol. I'm praying that Riley gets into K-4. It's done by lottery. They put all the boys names in a bag and all the girls names in a bag and draw 9 from each bag and that's who gets in. Sooooooooo, I guess we'll see. Well, it looks like I've rambled enough. OMG....July 27th was my last blog.....lol...soooooooooooooo....Since then and now, let's see....Chris and I had our 6th wedding anniversary.....and very soon, Riley is gonna be 4(Jan. 19th) and I will beeeeeeeeeeeeee 30.(Jan. 14)I'm getting old(so are you, Summer and Megan---lol)...said I was gonna be thru having babies by the time I was 30, doesn't look like that is gonna happen since one day I plan on trying to have at least 1 more...guess i should work on that, huh? well, I guess enough rambling for now....I will be a better blogger. Wore Out

We recently fininshed with a 5 day Bible School(vbs). We had a great time but it was exhausting. We had around 60 kids each night. Great Fun. Can't wait until next year. I am the craft teacher. I love doing it, but to get around 20-3,4,&5 year olds to do a T-shirt in one night is pretty rough(fun but hectic). I love doing crafts. We did T-shirts, pinwheels, bookmarks, color your own religious paddleball sets, scratched turtles, key chains, had lots of fun. I work part-time at a post office and one of the women was out for surgery. I was supposed to work only 6 weeks but it turned into 13 weeks, not that I'm complaining, Loved the extra money. I am thinking about maybe looking for a full-time job, not sure yet. I love working, for the most part. Anyway, we are getting ready for the WIGGLES. We go Tuesday night to the Civic Center in Mobile. Riley is so excited but he thinks he's gonna get to ride in the BIG RED CAR, hope he's not too dissappointed.

I'm a terrible blogger...I don't know how long it's been...It's just that nothing interesting is really happening in the Rodrick World right now...Last week, my baby(tear rolls down cheek) went to Vacation Bible School in Uriah...as soon as we got there, he was like Mom, are you going yet....(sobbing now)....He's only 3 and already he doesn't need me....I wanted him to want me a little bit but oh well...guess he's growing up....(wipes face)..my husband was like he'll be fine...I said I know but that's still my baby....the whole week, he was like GO HOME, MOM...I only stayed for like 5 minutes to make sure his teacher got there and knew that he was there...when I got home each night...I was like ok, what do I do now....first time in 3 1/2 years, literally, the first time, I don't have Riley here....so what do I do.....never did figure that out the whole week....well, enough about me being mentally unstable....We just found out the WIGGLES are coming to Mobile in July...so I guess Chris, Riley, and MYself are going to see 30- something year old men dance and sing...can't wait...just kidding...it'll be fun...I guess I've rambled enough....Pray that something exciting*(and good) happens so I'll write some better blogs......

I've been working at the Huxford Post Office part time for about a year now. I'm gonna be working full-time for like 6 or 7 weeks, one of the women had surgery. Anyway, Niki(my sister) keeps my little boy, Riley, whenever I have to work...Yesterday, her little girl, Brianna, had to go to the dentist, so Riley went with them. They were sitting in the waiting room, waiting for Brianna to get through...the waiting room has a few people in it...Riley looks at Niki and says, out of the blue, "Last night in the bathtub, my butt crack was hurting." She just said ok....that didn't satisfy him...so her told her again, only louder...Needless to say, everyone in the dentist's office cracked up...Leave it to my son....

The Next Preacher

I truly believe that Riley is either going to be a preacher or a politician......when we go to church , he has to wear his tie and shake everyone's hand....he is involved with every aspect of church...he plays his guitar in the choir, helps take up the offering, helps his sunday school teacher teach the class...esp. when he's the only one there..he told me the other day that Peter was walking on the water with Jesus and then a big fish came and ate him....I told his Sunday School teacher, I hope this isn't what she was teaching him...too funny...lol....so here he is in his tie like Brother Ronald, our Pastor.....

Boring Week

Not a lot has been happening in the Rodrick household...just normal everyday stuff...work(sometimes) and just livin' life....Sorry I haven't written anything in a while(Summer, I think you are the only one that reads my blogs) but just haven't had anything to write about...Riley has been in a mood for 2 weeks now...he thinks he should just get to do anything he wants to do..thinks he shouldn't have to listen to me...so, needless to say...I need NERVE PILLS....lol.....the other day he wanted to go outside and I told him when I got through cooking we could go....so he looks at me, turns around and gets his guitar...and says...I bet you'll let me when I play you a song....a 3 year old is trying to bribe me...too funny...I let him play, told him it was great, then said, we can go outside after I get through cooking...he looked at me like what's wrong with you....so, that's all for now...maybe life will get more interesting later...and I'll have better stories....

Dinosaur Adventure Land

This past Saturday, our church youth group went to Dinosaur Adventure Land. It's located in Pensacola, FL. It's an amusement park where dinosaurs and the bible meet. We had a blast, big and little kids..They had a physical challenge that had a religious meaning with it...it was really fun....

This weekend my husband, Chris, borrowed a friend's tractor to do some yard work with. Riley has been begging me to buy him one ever since his daddy let him ride it. He told me to look on Ebay and buy one. Guess you can tell I'm hooked on Ebay..it's bad when your 3 year old knows it too. So today, I had to work, and when I got home Riley is upset because his daddy is taking the tractor back home. Riley thinks we should just keep it...so guess I'm gonna have to start looking on Ebay for a tractor....lol

Ready for VBS

We're starting to get ready for VBS again this year at our church and I am so excited...So I decided to put some pics from previous VBS' on here for all to enjoy....I think I enjoy VBS as much, probably more, than the kids do. I am the craft teacher, have been for the past 2 years and I absolutely adore doing it....It's so much fun to see the kids, especially the little, little, ones and how much they enjoy doing EVERYTHING....even the little things excite them...I always have a blast...this year's theme is GOD'S BIG BACKYARD...so everything is oversized...HUGE ladybugs, grasshoppers, bugs, everything...sounds like it's gonna be a blast...

New Dog

We got a dog on December 26, 2007. He's a Shih-poo. His name is Cooper. On Wed., we took him to be groomed for the first time. He looks like we have a whole new dog. When we took him to the groomer he weighed 4 lbs. I'm guessing he weighs alot less now. When Riley saw him, he said Mom, where's our dog? I thought the same thing...

The Crock Pots

This is my first blog attempt, so....go easy on me....My nephew, Christopher has what the doctors suspect is Chicken Pox....When Riley and I woke up this morning, I told him to let me check him out to see if he had any chicken pox....he calmly looked at me and said...they ain't the chicken pox....they are the crock pots....so if anyone was wondering, no he doesn't have the Crock Pots...keep in mind that he's only three and quite frankly, he already knows it all..and I mean everything...
